Ada ke patut diorang kasi "Datuk" to an actor who doesn't even live in Malaysia. If he was born here, maybe ok lagi kot. Heck, he's a freaking actor. He just acts in Malaysia. I'm guessing there was a small discussion before they decided to award Shah Rukh Khan with the datukship:
"Shah Rukh Khan banyak bikin filem hebat guna Melaka"
"Ya betul tu. Banyak dia promote negeri kita. Jom kasi dia jadi datuk."
"Memang patut pun dia diberi datuk. Filem dia semua best-best belaka."
"Tapi dia hanya pelakon. Bukankah kita patut awardkan producer dia atau orang yang yang memilih untuk shooting filem-filem tersebut di Melaka...?"
"....."
"STFU."
Also heard that an uncle of mine was offered a Datuk title, but only if he agreed to sponsor someone RM15000. Datuks are like the old people's Apple product. While we go around bragging about our iPods, iPhones and iMacs to our friends, they go around telling their friends about how they bought their Datuk title. At least Apple products actually do stuff.

no value la datuk2 nowadays. olden days okie, but nowadays punyer, BODOH.
I KNOWWW!!! I read it in the star. TOTALLY WTF???
What next? Nak kasi Datuk Sean Connery and Datuk Zeta Jones cuz they made that horrible movie using the twin towers?? Tu lagi la Hollywood yo. :P
well, i memang ada plan nak jadi datuk satu hari nanti before i die. Teringin jugak nak dapat cucu. :P
sama la. nk jadi datuk. tp before that, kena jadi bapak. before that kena jadi suami. before that, kena ada keje...sigh...
sume tu rasanye lagi mahal dari sponsor orang Rm15000.
holy crap, man. that's deep. now i'm considering saving up 15000 and buy that shortcut to become a grandpa. someday.
