Let's start with the -1st day (Raya Eve).
Highlight: FOOD. Not raya food, just normal food. Kuay teow goreng, nasi, mi kantonis?, royal murtabak and Ayam Percik Ayamas. The royal murtabak was taken from a royal palace from somewhere in the North. Ayam Percik tu, well, I didn't know it still existed. Rare weh Ayamas skarang (I'm just saying that cos the one in Bangsar is gone and the one that was in Mid Valley is now some other chicken shop).
Oh, the whole thing happened at my grandparents' place in TTDI. We do this every year. Big gathering, plenty of food, yada yada yada.
1st day (Raya Day).
Lemang + Rendang, Laksa Johor. And suddenly, now baru I teringat about the sate. Oh well. As usual, family photo at home, family photo at the grandparents', eat eat eat, main game jap (I suck at multiplayer Metroid Prime Hunters. Mario Kart ok lagi), then left the house sometime after noon.
Went to my old pal Hazwan's house in Seputeh. Known this guy since standard one. Same school for 11 years, same class for 6. Had drinks and a lil bit of food. Fooled around with his murukus. The guests at his house was strangely multiracial. I guess doctors have a big variety of friends. I think the few Malays that were there were his relatives. Or maybe not, cos I remember him saying that relatives come at night... And dia tak puas hati that my lil bro didn't eat much.
Really should take a pic with him someday. Selama ni, I've only had like, what, 7 pictures with him? 6 being gambar kelas, 1 being that pic in Friendster with Adam and Luke.
2nd day.
Balik kampung Seri Menanti, N9. Jumpa relatives, makan2....... That's pretty much it. Tak keluar beraya pun. Relatives yang datang ke rumah kampung tersebut. It was all fine til around 3pm, when my uncle came with all his children and grandchildren (not sure if he had cicit... if he did, they were there too). The family's too big for me to know all of em.
The thing that made this day worse than the next was that my DS suddenly buat hal at the end of the day. Suddenly ajer cannot play. Stupid ttds. Stupid microSD.
Traffic jam at the entrance/exit of my kampung house.
Penjual aiskrim mengambil kesempatan masuk kawasan rumah kampung aku.3rd and 4th day.
Spent most of the days sleeping. :P And a tiny bit of socializing. All my relatives dah gone dah. They all came during the first and second day. Tinggal one family aje at the end of the 3rd day, the one that actually lives in the kampung house.
And at the end of the fourth day, I'm home. So yeah. That's my raya. Nothing really fun.
In other news:
For some reason, I really don't enjoy watching Malay shows. Most of em anyway, some are still bearable. Dramas lah paling tak tahan. "Screaming in fear" is already overly exaggerated, lately I realize (cos I don't watch Malay shows much) that "sadness caused by death" is overly exaggerated as well. Unbearably overly exaggerated. (Darth Vader would just resort to a short, awkward, non-dramatic "Nnnnoooooooooooo~~~". That one show I saw had to make the mourning scene last for, what, 5 whole minutes of whining?)
Oh, and you know that Afdlin Shauki film Sumo Lah? It's an advertisement for Celcom and Ogawa. It's a nice film, sure, but... I just can't get over the advertising. And as for other shows, like raya specials and whatnot, the focus is too much on celebrities. The dialogue doesn't help. No one speaks in proper BM in the real world. Unless you work in RTM. Ahaks.
I noticed this year macam tak ramai yang main mercun. I think it's because of this one type of mercun, used by so many people these days. Even when it's not waktu perayaan. The mercun is only about 3 inches long. When it's done burning, it'll only become a bit under 1 inch. But strangely, it doesn't release many sparks. Or noise. Asap jer lebih. (understand or not? :P)
