Spittin' Blood
I just did something... uh.. strange just a short moment ago.
So my younger brother Fariz was recently admitted at Pantai Medical for Dengue. A few minutes ago, I detected a mosquito bite on my arm. I have no idea why I did this (probably pengaruh Twilight) but I actually tried sucking on the spot where I got bitten. Then I went to my bathroom sink to spit. Twas all blood.
I think what I tried to do was... well, pretty much what happened at the end of Twilight. Suck out the blood-infecting substance. Anyway, I got a hickey on my right arm now. :P
Has anyone else actually tried sucking on a mosquito bite spot?

GSC/TGV/CathayCineplexes Akan BANKRAP
Half of the frontpage of The New Straits Times Newspaper dated 24/12/2008. You may need to pay RM20 to watch Hollywood/non-local movies while it only costs the normal RM12 to watch local movies. Here's the full article.

Perhaps the funniest line in the article.
Sure it only needs the "government's approval", but hey, every other mengarut idea proposed to them was given the OK. House construction on hillsides for example. Not sure if the Yoga issue is their fault jugak.
I could think of a whole lotta things to write about this, but a lot of em quickly go off-topic.

Ok let's see... Org takkan tgk cerita melayu sbb tak best, org takkan tgk filem hollywood sbb mahal. Since budak2 zaman sekarang kebanyakannya dah pandai bertorrent, those non-local movies will all be downloaded and the local movies will be ignored. Until Hari Raya, when they are released on Astro Ria.
I have a feeling someone didn't plan things right. Possibly the local film-makers. Making a story that appeals to the local people will make them want to watch it. BUT their mindset is always "jaga bajet". You think they'd wanna waste 10 whole bucks to watch a bad local movie once on a big screen? Of course not! They'll just wait for Raya. Or buy the VCD. They're both less than 10 bucks and they can watch it multiple times.
It doesn't help Malaysian film-makers that some force in Malaysia (government kot...) make sooo many rules for making films. Heck, have I ever mentioned about the time when I was working as the Graphic Designer for that kids show, they made a christmas episode and RTM rejected it simply because "oh, orang melayu tak boleh pakai topi warna merah kerana ia merosakkan akidah" (refering to santa hats). Unless their real reason for the rejection was for the songs they sang in that episode (I'm pretty sure they made their own songs again. My God, whose freaking idea was it to make a song titled "Hari Natal"?!)
Tapi ada kes dimana seorang lecturer MMU punya kawan had to go to another country to make his movie, but this was understandable because it had much, much nudity in it. And something about watermelons. And he showed this on projector in the FA class. Because it's "experimental film" or something. I accidentally walked in on it while returning someone's Tru Calling DVD box set.
Yknow, one of the things I hate most about Malaysian cinema..... is Saiful Apek. I wanted to watch Cicakman to see the kemampuan of Malaysian special effects artists! But because of him, I don't think I even watched it til halfway. More like a quarter. So no matter how much publicity a local movie gets, if Apek's in it, it's gonna suck.
Alright, one last bit. I didn't watch Histeria, but if that lesbian kiss really did pass the censorship boards..... that would be really weird. Because there hasn't even been a normal heterosexual kiss on local films. And the first kiss in a Malaysian movie is a bisexual one? Sungguh the hebat.

Movies and Trips
The Sinbad gig is over. Now I'm just sorta bumming. Sorta. I think of it as resting for a while. Catch up on things I missed. Movies and hangouts and stuff. Meanwhile, I'm helping out an old MMU friend (who still hasn't graduated) with his assignment (cos he failed Maya 2 twice already. I think).
The only movies on my to-watch list at the moment are Madagascar 2 and Transporter 3. Wasn't very interested in these 2 movies until someone told me Madagascar 2 was really good (because the trailers don't mention a thing about what the movie's about) and Transporter 3 because I'm expecting it to be better than QuantumShowcase of Solace. At least I'll be expecting an action movie instead of a spy movie.
I watched Bolt without knowing at all what it was about and it was AWESOME. Twilight (like all book movies) is not as good as the book. Hell, banyak super jiwang boring sleep-inducing parts. Someone even snored loudly when I watched. And today, I just watched Antoo Fighter. Not bad for a Malay movie I suppose. But I liked Zombi Kampung Pisang better.
Last Saturday, I went to Sunway Pyramid where I participated, for the first time, a Red Box session. With Craig, Syaz, Fazlin, Akmar and a few Akmar relatives. It was quite fun. (Free fries!) It was one of those super-rare days where I use my voice a lot. Boleh pulak diorang pasang 3 to 4 Avril songs in a row. Memang penat lah aku melayan. Ada lah jugak layan other songs, but none of the Malay ones. :P I noticed a lot of mistakes with the lyrics. And they don't show a thing when they're rapping. Rosak lagu Linkin Park.
Then on Monday, I spent my day at Adam's (kat Bangi). I brought my Wii. It was nice playing a lot of 4-player stuff. Actually I think I only have 3 4-player games: Brawl, Mario Kart and Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2. I got a video of Adam and his 2 bros fooling around with a song in Rayman. Should upload soon.
