It's the pictures in the newspapers lately. Do we REALLY need pictures like that in the news? Isn't it enough just reading about it? Well, sure, putting in pictures will cause more people to actually care about it. But think about it, putting all these gory pictures in the newspaper, how come they don't show gore like the Saw movies in cinemas? They show plenty of crappy movies, surely a little gore should be fine.
I mean, the whole reason that lots of gory scenes get cut on Astro is to protect the kids from seeing, well, gore. But they could just get a newspaper and get all the gore they want (besides learning about Malaysian "politics").
It's weird, but I think I'm worried about what children are exposed to these days. For one thing, all the paranoia about child kidnapping is gonna cause the next generation to be, well, paranoid. As if we aren't paranoid enough already. Anyway, kids are known for being more attracted to pictures than words. What if they grow up to actually like seeing these gory scenes...?
I'm overthinking things. I should go sleep now.
