So a lot of people haven't been blogging lately, including me. I guess I should start again.
I haven't been doing much lately, outside of work. So let's start there. The job at NTV7's kinda fun. During the early weeks, I kept getting asked "you're not Chinese?". Besides that, I also heard a rumor that some of the girls in the other room have been checking me out. :P The graphics room and the other rooms around it are separated by walls with big glass windows.
The room I'm referring to is the room where all the.. uh.. journalists (?) work. They get the news and stuff, then they come to us graphics people to do their graphics so that the information they gathered will be shown on TV in a nice, presentable... graphic.
So about them girls, after these few months of working there, I've only really "noticed" few of them. Not counting the one(s) in the graphics dept. One is this girl/lady (she's tall, Chinese, sorta speaks good English. Sorta. She did voiceovers. Real age unknown.), we never talked much about personal stuff, but she quite often came to me to do her graphics. I think it was because I'm easier for her to communicate with. Bebudak lain, English diorang not so good. I haven't seen her in a few weeks. I think she resigned.
The other girl/lady (Also real age unknown.) was one of the producers for The Breakfast Show (more details on this show later). I perasan aje that she minat kat I. :P Pats on the back and compliments on work. I did find it strange that she marahed a lotta people but not the people she kept "close". Since she never marahed me either.... well, yknow. But anyway, today was her last day. And I sorta lost her thumb drive a few weeks ago. I could've sworn I left the thumb drive on her desk...
The Breakfast show is the early morning talk show that airs at 7am weekday mornings. It's one of the very few shows that you can actually see my name in the ending credits. Every weekday, one of the graphics guys have to be in the office at 5am to prepare some of the graphics for this show. Most of the graphics are prepared the previous day. Yang paling banyak kena buat during this morning shift is take pictures of some news headlines and set it up to air on TV. Besides that, I also have to position the virtual set properly.
And about virtual sets, I've already created at least 2 different virtual sets that have already been aired on TV. One was for UMNO (a TV special, was only on for a week), and the other is for a Mandarin talk show called Editor's Time (Saturdays at 6pm). We build them up in 3D Studio Max version 2009, then we export them in .wrl format, bring it up to the computer in the studio to replace the green screens.
In case you're wondering, the miscellaneous graphics we have to do consist of making 2d graphics which involve a lot of googling and photoshopping. Example: OTS (over the shoulder. That small picture floating by the shoulder of a newsreader), diagram graphics (like pie charts, result of votes), and maps (gempa bumi someplace, "accident occured here").

Anyone still watching stuff in their free time? The following is my list of things I still watch: Life, Gossip Girl, Heroes, How I Met Your Mother, Reaper, Transformers Animated, Clone Wars, Hannah Montana, The Spectacular Spiderman, and Robot Chicken.
Tried watching Knight Rider because I'm downloading it for a friend. Seriously tak tahan. I hate the 4WD vehicle mode. It's ugly and the transformation is total crap. The CG is not very well done, in my opinion. Not that I can do better, it just doesn't look... nice. Looks too CG. And there's too much focus on girls and cars. So boring. Though there was this one episode with a transforming robot, KITT's rival KARR. It died too quickly. Disappointing.
Heroes and Gossip Girl have been sucking for quite a while now. I'm still considering to stop watching them.

GAMES
Currently playing Final Fantasy 4 (DS) and Tomb Raider Underworld (Wii). I'm taking my time with FF4, I'm sure it's gonna take me a looooong time to finish it. Tomb Raider on the other hand, I should be done with it by the end of the week. Just like how I finished Pikmin last week. Tomb Raider's a great game, and not just because of the female main character. Not much shooting, but the jumping around and stuff is... something I find really fun in the game. Reminds me of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. Without the wall-running and time-rewinding. But still nothing beats Shadow of the Colossus.
